Senior Electrical Engineer – Sustaining Engineering

About the role

Novocure is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Sustaining Engineering team. You will lead the transition of innovative cancer‑treatment systems from R&D into manufacturing, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering activities for design transfer and sustaining projects.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the DT & Sustaining Engineering team.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert for electrical design during production activities.
• Transfer electrical designs from R&D to manufacturing, incorporating Design for Manufacturing (DFM) recommendations.
• Maintain and improve PCB and electrical board designs for robustness, cost‑effectiveness, and manufacturability.
• Define project requirements, timelines, and budgets; generate complete production documentation (BOMs, assembly drawings, work instructions).
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors throughout the product lifecycle.
• Perform hands‑on design, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and lead design reviews.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (required); M.Sc. preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical engineering experience in the medical‑device industry.
• Strong knowledge of medical‑device standards and electrical safety requirements.
• Proven experience leading projects from concept through manufacturing.

Required skills

• Digital circuit design (analog basics).
• PCB design and layout using Altium Designer.
• Laboratory test equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, function generators.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Creation and maintenance of PCB documentation, PCBA files, BOMs, and assembly drawings.
