Scientific Director, Physics

About the role

Novocure is seeking an exceptional Scientific Director, Physics to lead its Physics organization and shape the scientific foundation of next‑generation product innovation. Based at the R&D centre in Haifa, you will guide a multidisciplinary team at the intersection of physics, biology, engineering, and clinical science to advance Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) technology.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10–15 physicists focused on product innovation, biophysics, modeling, and experimental physics.
• Serve on the Product Development Leadership Team, providing scientific direction across product innovation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product Innovation, Preclinical Research, Clinical, Medical Affairs, Publications, and other cross‑functional groups to solve complex scientific and technical challenges.
• Define and evolve the scientific and modeling framework that underpins product innovation, translational research, and clinical development.
• Drive internal and external scientific training on the physics of TTFields and support publications, patents, regulatory submissions, and research collaborations.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Physics, Biophysics, or a related scientific discipline.
• At least 10 years of professional experience (or 7+ years post‑Ph.D.), with academic experience considered a plus.
• Minimum 4–5 years of industry experience leading and developing scientific teams.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary scientific organizations and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in physics, biophysics, and scientific modeling.
• Experience with experimental physics methods and device physics.
• Strong understanding of the intersection between physics, biology, engineering, and clinical science.
