Revenue Accountant

About the role

The Revenue Accountant will be the technical authority on revenue recognition as the company transitions from license‑based to subscription and AI consumption models. You will sit at the table where deals are shaped, ensuring that revenue is recognized correctly before contracts are signed.

Key responsibilities

• Apply ASC 606 and IFRS 15 to multi‑element contracts, allocating standalone selling prices and determining timing of revenue recognition.
• Monitor subscription, AI consumption, and professional services arrangements for emerging accounting implications.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate revenue recognition policies and procedures across finance and commercial teams.
• Execute month‑end close activities: prepare revenue schedules, reconcile deferred revenue, post journal entries, and produce management reports.
• Identify automation opportunities using ERP functionality or specialist revenue recognition platforms.
• Review non‑standard commercial contracts in the Deal Desk workflow, providing written guidance on revenue implications.
• Serve as the technical checkpoint in the commercial approval process for complex deals.
• Manage external auditor relationships, prepare technical memos, and support audit queries.
• Administer Sarbanes‑Oxley or equivalent compliance controls.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in revenue recognition and technical accounting, preferably in a SaaS or AI‑driven environment.
• Deep knowledge of ASC 606 and IFRS 15 standards.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex, multi‑element contracts.
• Experience handling month‑end close, audit coordination, and SOX compliance.
