QA Engineer – Backend Infrastructure (1-year Fixed-Term)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated QA Engineer to join our Backend Infrastructure team on a 1‑year fixed‑term contract. You will be responsible for validating large‑scale enterprise backend systems that support healthcare environments, ensuring they meet high standards of quality, reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute functional, integration, system, regression and end‑to‑end tests for backend components and distributed systems.
• Validate installation, upgrade, migration, backup, recovery and deployment workflows across single‑server, clustered, distributed and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps, automation teams and product stakeholders to investigate failures, improve testing strategies and verify fixes.
• Analyse logs, diagnostics and system behaviour to troubleshoot Windows, IIS, networking, database and service‑level issues.
• Participate in reliability improvement initiatives, design reviews and post‑incident investigations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent vocational education.
• Minimum 2 years of software QA experience with backend or infrastructure systems (or 4 years with vocational education).
• ISTQB Foundation Certification.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.

Required skills

• Windows, Windows Server, Windows Services, IIS, web services.
• Basic networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, ports, firewalls, client‑server communication.
• Log analysis, Event Viewer, PowerShell, network diagnostic tools.
• Scripting with Python and/or PowerShell.
• Experience with Kafka, message brokers, event‑driven architecture, databases, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with Wireshark, crash‑dump analysis, production incident investigation, DICOM, HL7, TLS/security protocols.
