Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Regulus is an agile defense‑tech startup developing next‑generation counter‑uncrewed systems. We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Electronic Warfare R&D team and drive the mechanical development of advanced counter‑UAV detection and jamming solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full‑cycle mechanical design of electronic and RF system assemblies, from concept through volume production.
• Perform structural, thermal, and modal analyses and select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
• Manage the end‑to‑end development process, including prototyping, verification, validation, and production implementation.
• Prepare engineering drawings, production files, and bills of materials in accordance with ISO standards.
• Design cable assemblies, routing, and integration within multidisciplinary systems.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and internal teams to ensure design compliance and quality.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of hands‑on mechanical design experience in defense, automotive, medical devices, or related multidisciplinary industries.
• Proven ability to lead thermal simulations for electronic systems.
• Strong independent work ethic, detail orientation, and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (design) and SolidWorks PDM (document management).
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems.
• Thermal simulation, structural analysis, and modal analysis of electronic assemblies.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles (advantage).
