Algorithm Team Leader – Computer Vision

About the role

Gentex Technologies Israel (GTI) is seeking an Algorithm Team Leader to head a group of computer vision engineers. The role combines hands‑on technical work with people management, overseeing the full lifecycle of AI‑driven vision algorithms for automotive in‑cabin sensing and driver monitoring systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of computer‑vision and deep‑learning engineers.
• Own end‑to‑end development of vision algorithms, from requirement gathering and data collection to proof‑of‑concept, validation and production hand‑over.
• Define technical direction, architecture and KPIs for new and existing product features.
• Collaborate with embedded software, system engineering, hardware, QA and product teams to optimise algorithms for edge devices and ensure automotive‑grade deployment.
• Drive technical planning, execution and delivery while balancing performance, quality and business objectives.

Required profile

• M.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience developing deep‑learning computer‑vision algorithms; classical computer‑vision experience is a strong plus.
• At least 2 years of experience leading engineers or complex technical projects.
• Proven track record of taking algorithms from concept to production in an automotive or similar safety‑critical environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross‑functional technical discussions.

Required skills

• Experience with classical computer‑vision techniques.
