Valve and Flange Technician

About the role

The Valve and Flange Technician is responsible for ensuring the integrity, reliability, and optimal performance of valve and flange assets across the Business Unit. This role drives preventative and predictive maintenance programs, supports turnarounds, and collaborates closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, assess, and improve valve and flange asset integrity and reliability.
• Develop, implement, and sustain preventative maintenance programs for all valve assets.
• Lead centralized vs. facility‑led maintenance work activities for fixed equipment and valves.
• Participate in inspections, reliability incident investigations, and mechanical integrity reviews, integrating findings into asset care strategies.
• Support turnaround (TAR) planning and execution for fixed equipment and valve maintenance.
• Manage work orders, CMMS data, and ITPM development related to valve maintenance.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to safety and experience with safe work practices (Isolation of Hazardous Energy, Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Permit to Work).
• Background in maintenance, operations, or engineering with knowledge of piping, fixed equipment, valves, welding, and reliability programs.
• Willingness to travel to offshore and on‑shore facilities.
• Ability to work in a multilingual, multicultural environment and mentor less‑experienced staff.

Required skills

• Valve maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Flange assembly and bolted‑joint techniques (hand torque, hydraulic tightening).
• Fixed equipment maintenance, piping, and welding.
• Reliability and preventive‑maintenance programs.
• Work Order Management and CMMS platforms.
• ITPM development and data management.
• Reading P&IDs, isometrics, and maintenance procedures.
• Mechanical trade qualification or equivalent technical certification.
• Vendor/OEM valve maintenance experience.
