System Engineer - Molecular Imaging

About the role

GE Healthcare Molecular Imaging in Israel is looking for a System Engineer in Haifa. The engineer has design responsibility for customer workflow, feature functionality, product quality, reliability, serviceability, manufacturability, regulatory compliance and cost. The role covers system conception, analysis, requirements development, traceability, architecture and design, FMEA, system integration, optimization, verification and validation testing, and support for manufacturing and field issues.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main integrator between disciplines and functions to deliver high-quality products.
• Define, design and implement the next generation of products, features and functionalities across functions and teams.
• Work with customers, marketing and field personnel to refine requirements for engineering teams.
• Develop methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effect on image quality, and incorporate feedback into hardware, software and service specifications.
• Make decisions on cross-disciplinary and architectural aspects.
• Help resolve urgent issues with current Molecular Imaging products.
• Assist the Program Manager in executing projects on time and within schedule.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in biomedical, mechanical, electrical or software engineering; MSc in engineering is an advantage.
• At least 2 years of systems engineering experience on complex system design and development projects.
• Experience in medical systems and in more than one systems engineering position are advantages.
• Independent, self-learner with excellent communication skills and proven ability to solve challenging design problems.

Required skills

• Proficiency with software tools for analysis and simulation (e.g., MATLAB).
• Broad exposure to mechanical, control, hardware, software and systems design, with technical depth in one or more disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, software, control or physics.
