System Engineer - Metrology Systems

About the role

KLA, a global leader in electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, is looking for an experienced System Engineer to join its Optical Metrology Division in Migdal HaEmek. The engineer leads the technical development of complex metrology systems, owns the system error budgets and acts as the bridge between the technical team, program managers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical development of a complex metrology system with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers.
• Own the system error budgets against the required specifications and provide a technical roadmap for future advanced technology.
• Partition large systems into subsystems, modules and components, and perform detailed root cause analysis on development and field-escalation problems.
• Drive validation and verification activities, including system-level testing, and write and peer review detailed test plans and reports.
• Work with program managers on project schedules and with service, manufacturing, engineering and marketing teams to define and optimize system performance.
• Review and approve system requirements and design documents, and contribute to product marketing and the division's strategic plans.
• Analyze large amounts of system data (in-house and from customers) to understand system behavior.
• Respond to field escalations where field service engineers cannot resolve complex performance problems, with written plans of action and on-site assistance at customer sites worldwide.
• Troubleshoot and maintain engineering prototype systems at division headquarters.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Physics, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of multidisciplinary systems experience, or a PhD graduate in relevant fields (a great advantage).
• Solid knowledge of data analysis and signal/image processing using Python or Matlab.
• Strong collaboration across disciplines, leadership skills and strong English oral and written communication.
• 20% travel.
