System Engineer - MDE

About the role

KLA, a global leader in electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, is looking for an experienced System Engineer in Migdal HaEmek. Its system engineers combine deep technical understanding, strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of customer needs, working on development processes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the system meets its requirements, with deep understanding of the technical aspects (hardware, algorithms, software) and customer use cases.
• Troubleshoot and maintain engineering prototype systems at the division headquarters.
• Review and approve system requirements and design documents.
• Contribute to product marketing and the division's strategic plans to clarify market needs in terms of system requirements.
• Collect and analyse large amounts of data from the system and from customers to understand system behaviour.
• Respond to field escalations where field service engineers cannot resolve complex performance problems, with written plans of action and hands-on support at customer sites worldwide.
• Design and run multi-disciplinary experiments, write and peer review detailed test plans and summary reports for system testing.

Required profile

• BSc in Electrical, Electro-optical, Mechanical or Bio-medical Engineering from a leading university; master's degree an advantage.
• At least 7 years of experience developing complex, multi-disciplinary products (hardware, mechanics, software, physics).
• At least 3 years of system engineering experience.
• Ability to work with technical leadership, in-house teams and remote global teams or contractors.
• Experience in imaging or electro-optical systems is an advantage.
• Fluent in Hebrew and English.

Required skills

• Developing high-level system requirements from marketing, product and customer input.
• Partitioning large systems into subsystems, modules and components.
• Generating acceptance test requirements with designers and test engineers, and experience with quality management, standardization and regulations.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, able to lead meetings.
