Supplier Quality Engineer – Mechanical Suppliers

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to lead the quality domain for mechanical suppliers within its Engineering department in Rehovot, Israel. You will work with a professional engineering team to ensure smooth production and high‑quality components for cutting‑edge semiconductor equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead investigations of supplier non‑conformances from initiation to resolution and drive corrective actions.
• Analyze quality trends, provide intelligence to management, and implement remedial actions.
• Represent engineering in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings, performing risk evaluations and disposition recommendations.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and suppliers to improve product quality, FPY, SPC and 8D processes.
• Identify and manage potential quality risks, including supply‑chain disruptions.

Required profile

• BSc in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in supplier quality or similar roles.
• Excellent communication skills in Hebrew and English.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 13485, IATF 16949, AS9100 standards.
• Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
• Experience with MRB processes, SPC, 8D problem‑solving, and root‑cause analysis.
• Certified Quality Engineer or Lead Auditor certification (advantage).
