Software Tech Lead - Metrology & Inspection

About the role

KLA, a global leader in electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, is looking for a Software Tech Lead in Migdal HaEmek to lead the software team behind current and next-generation products. The role covers software for machines in industry-leading multidisciplinary systems, within the Optical Metrology Division of the Global Products Group.

Key responsibilities

• Develop software hands-on using C#/C++, object-oriented design and scripting on Windows and Linux in a multi-discipline product.
• Work with project managers, system, algorithm and application engineers to build short- and long-term work plans, promote innovation and software methodologies, and gate the team's quality.
• Take part in all stages of software development: requirements review, coding, release, integration and customer and support.
• Own assigned design and development tasks for current and future products.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, optical, algorithm, system and application teams to improve system capabilities and troubleshoot issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Tech Lead roles.
• Proven experience in large, multidisciplinary systems with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong software design skills (scalable, maintainable, modular systems).
• Deep understanding of OOP principles and operating system concepts (threads, synchronization, memory, IPC).

Required skills

• Proficiency in C++ or C#.
• Strong hands-on experience in Linux environments.
• Preferred: experience close to hardware, AI tools (e.g. Cloud Code), real-time systems, strong multithreading and concurrency, and system integration and debugging of complex cross-component issues.
• Preferred: code reviews, testing and CI/CD, and ability to drive technical decisions across teams.
