Software Engineer – Optical Diagnostics & Control

About the role

As a Software Engineer in the Optical Diagnostics and Control Business Unit, you will design and develop high‑performance, large‑scale distributed software platforms that power advanced semiconductor inspection and diagnostics systems. You will work on cutting‑edge technologies such as machine learning and AI to create software that solves high‑value customer problems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high‑performance software for advanced inspection systems.
• Build and maintain distributed services running on Linux and Kubernetes.
• Drive system architecture and make key technical design decisions.
• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of major features and cross‑functional initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with Software, Algorithms, Systems, and Architecture teams.
• Utilize AI‑powered development tools to improve productivity, quality, and delivery velocity.
• Review and validate AI‑generated solutions using strong engineering judgment.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Linux, and Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated ownership, technical leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, networking, and multithreaded applications.
• Proven experience delivering complex software systems from design through production.
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and architectural design skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to drive solutions independently.
