Senior Software Engineer (C++)

About the role

GE HealthCare is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join its team in Haifa. The role focuses on designing and developing high-quality, performance-critical software in modern C++ for complex healthcare systems. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on C++ expertise, solid software engineering fundamentals and can work across software, hardware, product and verification teams. Experience in embedded or hardware-integrated systems is a strong advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust software components in modern C++
• Own features and technical tasks from requirements and design through implementation, integration, testing and release
• Take part in software architecture and technical design discussions and in code reviews
• Develop reliable multithreaded and performance-sensitive software
• Investigate complex software and system issues, find root causes and implement sustainable solutions
• Integrate software with hardware, devices, algorithms and other system components
• Write clean, maintainable, testable and well-documented code
• Collaborate with system engineering, AI/algorithm, product and verification teams
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering practices and knowledge sharing

Required profile

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with strong C++ expertise
• Experience developing multithreaded applications and troubleshooting concurrency issues
• Experience with performance analysis, debugging and optimization of complex software systems
• Experience with unit testing, code reviews, source control and standard software development practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to quality and detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
