Senior Enterprise Architect – Core Payments Processing

About the role

Nuvei is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect to lead the design of its next‑generation core payments processing platform. Reporting to the VP of Architecture, you will translate complex business and product requirements into scalable, resilient, and secure technical solutions that power global payment operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture design for complex, real‑time payment processing initiatives across Nuvei’s core platform.
• Translate functional and non‑functional requirements (performance, availability, security, compliance) into robust architecture specifications.
• Define integration patterns, service boundaries, and micro‑service contracts for the platform.
• Guide engineering teams to implement architecture decisions and ensure adherence to standards.
• Drive modernization efforts, including legacy system decomposition, migration strategies, and cloud‑ready architecture evolution.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Data teams to align technical solutions with business goals.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing real‑time distributed systems for fintech or payment platforms.
• Proven track record modernizing large‑scale, mission‑critical applications.
• Strong ability to influence cross‑functional teams and maintain architectural integrity throughout delivery.
• Senior‑level expertise with a focus on scalability, reliability, and compliance.
