Senior Buyer

About the role

As a Senior Buyer at Applied Materials, you will manage the procurement of materials, supplies, machinery, and services that keep our cutting‑edge semiconductor manufacturing facilities running. You will work closely with planning, engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure inventory levels meet production needs while driving cost‑effective supplier solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate purchasing activities with planning and engineering to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Manage supplier operational aspects including forecasts, purchase orders, MRP actions, repairs, service agreements and on‑time delivery.
• Lead supplier quality initiatives in partnership with manufacturing and engineering.
• Expedite receipt of materials and resolve material‑related accounting or receiving issues.
• Provide management with status updates, action plans and long‑term supplier strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, preferably engineering.
• 4‑7 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a high‑tech or semiconductor environment.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent English communication (writing, speaking, reading) and presentation abilities.
• Commercial orientation with solid problem‑solving capabilities.

Required skills

• High‑level English proficiency.
• Program and project management experience.
