QA & Automation Team Lead

About the role

Quantum Machines is seeking a hands‑on QA & Automation Team Lead to own quality across its high‑level software stack, including SDKs, APIs, and user‑facing tools. The role combines technical leadership with direct contribution to test automation, while supporting Tier 2 customer issues and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the quality and test‑automation strategy for SDKs, APIs, tools and related services.
• Lead, mentor and grow a team of QA and automation engineers while staying hands‑on.
• Design, build and maintain automation frameworks and test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with R&D, architecture and product teams to set test plans, coverage goals and quality gates.
• Own Tier 2 software support, investigate escalations, reproduce issues and feed insights back into testing.
• Drive root‑cause analysis, improve test reliability and establish metrics for release readiness.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on software QA and test‑automation experience, including at least 2 years leading engineers.
• Strong programming proficiency in Python (or equivalent) for building automation frameworks.
• BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related scientific field.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining automated test suites for high‑level software (SDKs, APIs, services).
• Experience handling escalated technical support or working directly with customers on complex software issues (preferred).
