Optic Lab Technician

About the role

KLA is seeking an Optic Lab Technician to join its semiconductor manufacturing team. You will work in a clean‑room environment, performing assembly, testing and calibration of high‑precision optical components that are critical to wafer and reticle production.

Key responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot, repair and calibrate production optical components following strict quality procedures.
• Assemble optical components and sub‑assemblies according to schematics, mechanical drawings and written work instructions.
• Conduct optical measurements, inspections, cleaning and functional tests using dedicated jigs, microscopes and test equipment.
• Maintain a safe, efficient clean‑room environment while handling delicate optical parts.
• Follow safety protocols for Xenon and laser‑based systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and NPL teams on experiments for new product families, documenting detailed results.

Required profile

• P.E. in electronics, optics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience.
• Fine motor skills and ability to read mechanical schematic diagrams.
• Experience working in a laboratory setting with optical test equipment.
• High level of written and spoken English for daily communications.
• Positive attitude, capable of working both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
