OCS Expert – Overhead Contact System Engineer

About the role

Based in Jerusalem, you will lead the Overhead Contact System (OCS) and Overhead Line Equipment (OHLE) engineering scope for urban railway and Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects. You will supervise site construction, provide high‑level technical expertise, and ensure the design and implementation of OCS/OHLE systems meet international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert knowledge of OCS design principles and ensure compliance with tender specifications and international standards.
• Review detailed design documents, calculation notes, manufacturers’ submissions, and equipment approvals prepared by the Design & Build contractor.
• Prepare Design Review Sheets (DRS) and recommend improvements for foundations, poles, anchoring systems, contact‑wire leveling, tensioning, earthing, bonding, lightning protection, and voltage‑triggering devices.
• Deliver technical support to the client’s engineering team and handle technical queries related to design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Coordinate weekly OCS/OHLE meetings, manage interfaces with the existing J‑Net project, and collaborate with civil, track, and power‑supply disciplines.
• Monitor progress, report to the Technical Manager, and conduct site supervision visits to identify deficiencies and enforce corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in OCS/OHLE engineering for railway or tramway projects.
• Strong understanding of international standards and best practices for overhead electrification systems.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
