Obsolete Material Planner

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Obsolete Material Planner to support material planning and management for its PDC manufacturing lines. The role focuses on inventory performance, reduction of excess & obsolete (E&Z) stock, and ensuring uninterrupted production through proactive supply‑chain solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support material aspects of new product introductions (NPI), including BOM structure and supply‑chain readiness.
• Ensure on‑time material delivery to first tools on the production floor.
• Identify top material risks, provide shortage overviews and mitigation plans to management.
• Plan and control financial aspects of new‑product build budgets and refunds.
• Set optimal material infrastructure: MRP, BOM, safety stock, inventory responsiveness, and E&Z levels.
• Manage obsolete material transitions, lead task forces, and prevent production stoppages.
• Maintain line inventory targets, safety stock, and long‑term reduction plans.

Required profile

• Industrial engineering graduate or equivalent background.
• Experience in high‑tempo, complex material planning environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to manage multiple interfaces across departments.
