Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will act as a trusted scientific partner to healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders and other external stakeholders within a defined therapeutic area. This field‑based position supports Takeda’s medical strategy by delivering high‑quality scientific exchange, gathering field insights, and contributing to evidence generation that improves patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute territory‑level scientific engagement plans aligned with medical and product strategies.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, KOLs, researchers and other relevant stakeholders.
• Communicate complex scientific and clinical information in a clear, balanced, patient‑focused manner.
• Gather, analyse and share medical insights from the field to shape strategy and identify opportunities.
• Represent Takeda at scientific congresses, advisory boards, investigator meetings and other medical events.
• Support evidence‑generation activities and contribute to scientific knowledge within the therapeutic area.
• Leverage CRM systems, data analytics and digital platforms to enhance stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs and cross‑functional teams to ensure insight‑driven decision‑making.
• Maintain deep expertise in the disease landscape and Takeda products while ensuring compliance with regulations and industry codes.

Required profile

• Advanced scientific degree (MSc, PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent); PhD, PharmD or MD preferred.
• At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in a scientific or medical affairs role.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Data analytics capabilities.
• Experience using digital platforms for stakeholder engagement.
