Medical Advisor Oncology

About the role

AbbVie is looking for a Medical Advisor in oncology in Israel to play a key role in advancing its oncology portfolio. The role acts as a trusted medical and scientific partner to internal and external stakeholders, providing clinical expertise and strategic insight across medical, commercial, regulatory, market access and clinical research activities. It involves building relationships with healthcare professionals and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and translating emerging scientific evidence into solutions that improve patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted medical and scientific partner to the Brand Team and cross-functional stakeholders, contributing to the medical strategy and annual medical plan.
• Provide accurate, balanced and timely medical information and scientific guidance to internal stakeholders, including the sales force, and review promotional and training materials for scientific accuracy and compliance.
• Support regulatory affairs and market access with medical and scientific input.
• Build long-term relationships with KOLs and healthcare professionals, represent AbbVie at scientific presentations, and organize advisory boards, lectures and educational events.
• Take part in scientific congresses and conferences to stay up to date with the therapeutic area.
• Contribute to new product launches, including local submissions to the Ministry of Health such as clinical background, scientific rationale and summaries of supporting data.
• Design and run clinical research projects within budget, including Phase IV studies, registries, database projects and PMOS studies, and oversee Investigator-Initiated Studies.
• Support the Affiliate Clinical Research Department with protocol review, investigator and site identification and feasibility assessments.

Required profile

• Experience in a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or Medical Advisor role in a competitive medical and scientific environment is required.
• Oncology experience is an advantage.
• Advanced degree preferred: Ph.D., M.D., D.V.M., Pharm.D. or D.M.D.; a Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline may be considered together with Medical Affairs experience.
