Mechanical Suppliers Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to lead the quality domain for its cutting‑edge suppliers within the Engineering department. The role is based in Rehovot, Israel, and involves managing technical aspects of manufacturability and ensuring smooth production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead investigation and resolution of supplier non‑conformances from initiation to closure.
• Analyze quality trends, provide intelligence, and advise management on remedial actions.
• Represent Engineering in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings, performing technical assessments and risk evaluations.
• Monitor and report non‑conformances related to production lines, coordinating with R&D and suppliers.
• Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in product quality, FPY, SPC and 8D.
• Identify and manage potential quality risks, including supply chain disruptions.

Required profile

• BSc in Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Excellent communication skills in Hebrew and English.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 13485, IATF 16949, AS9100 standards (advantage).
• Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements.
• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action deployment, SPC and 8D methodologies.
• Experience serving as an auditor or Certified Quality Engineer (advantage).
