Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Power Plant

About the role

This position ensures business continuity for the Operations & Maintenance team at the Sorek power plant in Israel. As a Specialist Para‑Professional, you will be responsible for the reliability and safety of critical mechanical systems, combining hands‑on repairs with proactive asset management.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and execute complex corrective repairs on gas turbines, pumps, compressors and valves.
• Perform precision tasks such as mechanical alignment, balancing and component fitting during overhauls.
• Respond to unscheduled maintenance demands and emergency situations, minimizing downtime.
• Carry out scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance according to the plant’s maintenance plan.
• Analyze performance data and inspection reports to recommend proactive actions.
• Support planning and scheduling of major maintenance activities, providing technical input on scope and resources.
• Lead daily maintenance operations, delegate tasks, and review work of junior technicians.
• Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, participate in safety meetings and maintain detailed maintenance records.
• Mentor and train junior team members to develop their technical skills.

Required profile

• Vocational training, technical diploma or Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of hands‑on mechanical maintenance experience in power generation or heavy industry.
• Proven ability to work with limited supervision while guiding junior staff.
