About the role
Johnson & Johnson MedTech Cardiovascular is seeking an experienced Logic Designer and FPGA Team Leader to head the FPGA engineering group that develops life‑saving medical systems. Reporting to the Director of Hardware Engineering, you will influence product architecture, delivery, and safety in a regulated environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of FPGA designers, managing cross‑platform projects and ensuring high‑quality deliverables.
- Design FPGA architecture and develop RTL using Verilog/SystemVerilog, handling synthesis, implementation, and static timing analysis.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate PCIe, SerDes, and signal‑processing algorithms into medical devices.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum six years of Logic Design and FPGA/RTL development experience, with at least two years in team management.
- Proven ability to read electrical schematics and understand SI/PI, power and cooling requirements.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Experience with Vivado and Quartus tools, XDC/SDC constraints, and low‑skew clocking.
- Hands‑on hardware bring‑up using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, JTAG and BERT.
- Familiarity with PCIe, SerDes protocols and signal‑processing algorithms.
- Knowledge of Artix‑7 and Kintex UltraScale devices (advantage).
