Lecturer – Experience Design (Game Feel)

About the role

Tiltan School of Design and Visual Communication seeks a part‑time lecturer to teach Experience Design, focusing on the craft of game feel. The role involves guiding Game Design, Game Development and 3D Art students to create responsive, satisfying and immersive gameplay experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Experience Design course through lectures, live demos and hands‑on tuning workshops.
• Develop and continuously update the syllabus, assignments, example projects and grading rubrics.
• Mentor student teams as they polish the feel of their year‑long and final projects.
• Review student builds, provide concrete feedback on responsiveness, feedback and overall feel.
• Adapt exercises so Art, Development and Game Design students each contribute from their discipline.
• Invite industry guests when possible and assess students according to college standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on industry experience as a game designer, gameplay programmer or technical designer with a focus on game feel.
• Shipped titles (including free games) or a portfolio demonstrating controls, feedback and polish you designed.
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to demonstrate techniques live.
• Professional English proficiency; Hebrew speaking is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Unity or Unreal Engine for game‑feel tuning.
• Deep practical knowledge of input handling (buffering, latency, coyote time, dead zones, response curves).
• Experience implementing juice techniques such as screen shake, hit‑stop, squash‑and‑stretch, particles and visual feedback.
• Camera systems expertise (follow, look‑ahead, damping, framing, shake).
• Animation and timing skills (anticipation, follow‑through, easing curves, tweening).
• Audio feedback implementation (layering, pitch variation, sync with actions).
