Lead C++ Software Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Lead C++ Software Engineer to join the UniBeam Software team in Rehovot. You will design and implement performance‑critical software modules that power next‑generation semiconductor and display equipment, focusing on real‑time image processing.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate, design, and develop optimized software for high‑end processing products.
• Make technical decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and efficiency of applications.
• Contribute to innovative product development and oversee launch into production environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
• At least 8 years of C++ (C++11/17) development experience, including hardware‑dependent software.
• Experience with performance profiling, sub‑millisecond latency requirements, and advanced memory management.
• Familiarity with modern RPC APIs such as gRPC and large, highly optimized code bases.
• Ability to collaborate with system architects and other software groups.
