Individual Learning Support Facilitator (2026-2027)

About the role

The Walworth Barbour American International School in Israel (WBAIS) is looking for a positive, compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Facilitator to provide full-time, individual support to one student. The facilitator works closely with the classroom teacher, the Early Years Teaching Team and Director, and the Student Support Coordinator to give learning, behavioural and social-emotional support throughout the school day. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:45 to 15:00, reporting to the Early Years Director.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands-on, individualised support for the child's learning, behavioural and social-emotional needs, co-regulating big emotions and using age-appropriate techniques for routines such as clean-up, snack, circle time, transitions and rest time.
• Break down daily activities into small steps and use strategies to keep engagement and focus during play-based and inquiry learning.
• Balance support with executive functioning skills and independence, and create or use positive motivational strategies.
• Provide movement breaks and positive reinforcement, and partner with teachers to scaffold and differentiate learning.
• Receive feedback and adjust support, and report weekly to the teacher so the school can communicate with the family.
• Help other teachers make environmental modifications, advise administrators and teachers on emotional or behavioural challenges, and model multicultural awareness.
• Take part in training and staff development.

Required profile

• Experience supporting students with a high level of need or diagnosis.
• Experience providing in-class support and differentiating learning materials and structures.
• Experience working with Early Years learners.
• Strong oral and written communication in English.
• Positive attitude, collaborative spirit and teamwork.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree, special education certification, international school experience, and expertise with EAL, learning/behavioural challenges and gifted students.
