Head of Health Centre B (Fixed Term) – Health Programme

About the role

The Head of Health Centre B will lead a primary health facility within UNRWA's Health Programme in the Jerusalem area. This fixed‑term position reports to the Area Health Officer and is open to internal candidates only.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general outpatient services, maternal and child health, and non‑communicable disease care, including referrals to hospitals.
• Conduct medical examinations for staff, hardship assistance applicants, and periodic health checks.
• Manage the health centre’s operations, supervise professional and general staff, and oversee supply chain and reporting.
• Supervise medical, nursing, and paramedical personnel, evaluating performance and ensuring quality service delivery.
• Maintain relationships with the local community and authorities.
• Ensure availability, quality, and validity of medicines and medical supplies; handle ordering, receipt, and disposal of expired items.
• Participate in on‑the‑job and in‑service training for staff.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Medical degree from an accredited institution, including internship training.
• Demonstrated experience in managing health centres or similar health services.
• Strong supervisory and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet UNRWA’s core values of integrity, professionalism, and respect for diversity.
