Financial Controller

About the role

We are a fast‑growing vision‑tech company developing a robotic platform for sight‑saving surgery. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own the company’s accounting function, drive process improvements, and partner across the organization to support our mission of restoring sight worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all accounting activities, including monthly, quarterly and annual closings in accordance with US GAAP.
• Prepare the annual budget, ongoing forecasts, and track monthly/quarterly budget performance.
• Partner with the CFO on financial strategy, long‑term modelling and cash‑flow planning.
• Identify and implement enhancements to financial processes, internal controls and workflows.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations and management to resolve financial discrepancies and support project needs.
• Oversee tax reporting, annual filings, statutory compliance and coordinate with external auditors.
• Supervise payroll, employee benefits and social provisions accounting.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and custom reports for executive decision‑making.

Required profile

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a BA in Economics, Accounting or a related field.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of US GAAP (advantage).
• 3+ years of experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
• Experience with public companies or US‑reporting entities (advantage).
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• High proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel.
• Ability to integrate AI capabilities to improve workflows and analytics.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
