Electrical Power R&D Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a highly talented Electrical Power R&D Engineer to join its Power team within the Electronics Infrastructure Group in Rehovot, Israel. You will lead the design and development of complex power modules and control systems for advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design process of AC and DC power modules for electronic systems, including distribution, switching, and protection up to 20 kW.
• Manage projects with external electronics and power‑supply vendors, overseeing solution selection, integration, and testing.
• Develop control and electric‑drive solutions for industrial modules and sensors, and create low‑voltage AC‑DC power‑supply systems.
• Coordinate procurement, assembly, and testing of components, ensuring compliance with safety certifications (SEMI, UL, CE).

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with at least 4 years of electrical design experience.
• Knowledge of industrial wiring standards and safety certifications.
• Strong project‑management, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• Design of power modules (AC & DC) and low‑voltage power‑supply systems.
• Electrical distribution, switching, protection, and control for up to 20 kW.
• Lab and bench testing of power electronics.
• Familiarity with safety standards such as SEMI, UL, and CE.
