Director of QA

About the role

NiCE is seeking a visionary leader to shape its Quality Engineering organization for the AI era. The Director of QA will own automation infrastructure, performance engineering, and AI‑driven quality initiatives, building high‑performing teams that set the standard for modern software validation at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute an AI‑augmented quality strategy, including LLM‑powered test generation and root‑cause analysis.
• Architect and maintain scalable test automation frameworks across UI, API, and integration layers.
• Drive shift‑left testing within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and establish coverage KPIs, flakiness SLAs, and ROI metrics.
• Lead performance and load testing at enterprise scale, set SLOs/SLAs, and collaborate with SRE on reliability thresholds.
• Build, mentor, and grow teams of automation engineers, performance engineers, and architects, setting technical direction, OKRs, and career ladders.
• Partner with Product, DevOps, and R&D leadership to embed AI‑quality thinking throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required profile

• 12+ years of software engineering or QA experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership (Director or Staff level) and direct reports.
• Hands‑on expertise in test automation architecture, having built frameworks from the ground up.
• Proven track record delivering performance engineering for systems supporting 10,000+ concurrent users in cloud‑native environments.
• Experience shipping AI/ML‑enabled products and integrating responsible AI testing practices.
