CPU Power Architect

About the role

Intel is seeking a Power Management Architect to lead the definition of next‑generation CPU power handling within the Architecture group. The role involves shaping end‑to‑end power solutions, from active and idle management to interaction with OS, drivers and platform components.

Key responsibilities

• Define active and idle power management architectures for future CPUs.
• Develop specifications and guide implementation of power delivery and efficiency schemes.
• Coordinate design efforts across hardware, firmware, OS and driver teams.
• Drive post‑silicon activation and validation of power management features.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional groups to integrate power solutions into PC and mobile platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in power management, CPU architecture or chip design.
• Proven ability to work in ambiguous environments and deliver high‑quality results.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of cross‑group collaboration.

Required skills

• C and C++ programming.
• Python and C# development.
• Debugging and performance analysis.
• Power management architecture and power delivery concepts.
• CPU and system architecture knowledge.
• Chip design and hardware development experience.
• Understanding of OS, driver and platform interactions.
