About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a C/C++ Software Engineer to join its Optical Diagnostics and Control (ODC) Software team in Rehovot. The position focuses on developing high‑throughput image‑processing modules optimized for CPU architectures, delivering real‑time performance for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize performance‑critical C/C++ software for next‑generation image‑processing products.
• Make technical decisions to ensure scalability, CPU efficiency, and high performance of applications.
• Collaborate with hardware and algorithm teams to bring innovative products from concept to production.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on C/C++ development experience on Linux.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and debugging abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C/C++ development on Linux platforms.
• Experience optimizing image‑processing algorithms for x86 CPUs.
• Design and implementation of high‑performance data flows and data structures.
• Hands‑on experience with containerization (Docker) and deployment automation.
