Senior Test Engineer – Cloud Silicon Manufacturing

About the role

Google is looking for a Senior Test Engineer to lead the development of manufacturing test and data‑analytics solutions for high‑volume silicon production that powers its data‑center and consumer hardware. You will work on cutting‑edge SoC technologies, driving yield improvement and cost optimisation across wafer fabs and outsourced assembly sites.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy comprehensive test flows and analytics for high‑volume manufacturing at wafer fabs and OSATs.
• Integrate SoC technologies into devices and ensure robust performance screening.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define optimal test coverage and release cost‑effective production test solutions.
• Analyse customer returns, identify coverage gaps, and develop incremental test patterns to address quality issues.
• Drive yield improvement initiatives using statistical analysis and yield management systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 8 years of product or test engineering experience.
• At least 1 year of people‑management experience, developing employees.
• Experience with product engineering, supply‑chain data analytics, or diagnostics for manufacturing or New Product Introduction (NPI).

Required skills

• Design‑for‑Testing (DFT) best practices, including at‑speed transition delay fault (TDF) and automatic test pattern generation (ATPG).
• Memory built‑in self‑test (MBIST), memory repair, and diagnostic tools.
• Statistical analysis tools such as JMP.
• Yield Management Systems (e.g., Exensio, YieldExplorer, JMP).
• Python for data analytics.
• Experience with ATE, SLT, and evaluating customer returns.
• Understanding of skew‑lot definition, data collection, characterization, and reporting.
