Senior Software Engineer – Data Movement Platform

About the role

Google Cloud’s Data Movement Platform powers serverless services that move data securely and at scale. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Sources group, you will design, build, and maintain the infrastructure that streams data between diverse sources and destinations.

Key responsibilities

• Write and test product or system development code in Go, Java or Python.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt it based on product updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues, debug, track and resolve them by analyzing impacts on hardware, network, or service operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience in software system architecture.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience with large‑scale data processing and distributed systems.
