Senior Frontend Engineer – Infrastructure Team

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join its Infrastructure Team. In this role you will design, build, and scale internal web platforms and admin tools that support the company’s global payments ecosystem. You will work closely with backend and platform engineers to ensure high‑quality, performant, and maintainable applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable frontend applications using modern web technologies.
• Own frontend architecture decisions, including component systems, application structure, and shared foundations.
• Create and maintain reusable UI components, design systems, and frontend tooling.
• Integrate APIs and collaborate with backend and platform teams on system design.
• Contribute to frontend infrastructure such as build pipelines, CI/CD processes, deployment workflows, and environment configuration.
• Improve observability, performance monitoring, and operational readiness of frontend applications.
• Champion best practices for performance, accessibility, testing, and code quality.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in frontend development with a focus on JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Proven experience building scalable, maintainable web applications that consume APIs.
• Familiarity with frontend infrastructure concepts including CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and build systems.
• Quality‑driven mindset with emphasis on testing, accessibility, and code quality.
