Software Engineering Manager – Data Infrastructure

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a seasoned Software Engineering Manager to lead its Data Infrastructure team in Israel. The role combines technical leadership with people management to build and operate a scalable, reliable data platform that powers analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Data Infrastructure engineers, fostering ownership and continuous improvement.
• Define and execute the technical roadmap for the data platform, overseeing architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Establish data quality standards, monitoring, and validation processes to ensure trustworthy data.
• Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, Backend, DevOps, and Product teams to enable scalable data foundations.
• Drive operational excellence through monitoring, observability, automation, and incident‑management best practices.
• Lead technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and engineering planning.
• Manage project prioritization, resource allocation, and delivery of strategic initiatives.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and career development of team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on data systems.
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to drive complex initiatives end‑to‑end.
