Principal Architect, AI

About the role

JLL is looking for an experienced AI leader to define the standards, frameworks and governance that will let the business scale AI safely, responsibly and effectively. The role sits at the intersection of architecture, engineering, governance and innovation, setting patterns for others to follow and guiding technical decisions across the organisation. It is an on-site position in Tel Aviv.

Key responsibilities

• Define AI architecture standards: reference architectures, design patterns and best practices for AI agents and LLM-powered applications, including tool usage, orchestration, agent workflows and system integration, and reusable frameworks.
• Lead AI governance and quality: define what "ready for production" means, set guardrails, evaluation frameworks and testing standards, and create approval processes and governance models.
• Drive model and platform strategy: own the selection, governance and lifecycle management of AI models, define routing through the AI gateway, and optimise performance, reliability and cost.
• Provide technical leadership: review designs from internal teams and vendors, give architectural guidance, identify risks and challenge assumptions.
• Partner across the organisation with platform engineers, Enterprise AI teams and business stakeholders so standards are adopted and embedded in delivery teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and operating enterprise-scale AI, agent or LLM platforms in production environments.
• Hands-on experience implementing AI governance, guardrails, evaluation frameworks and responsible AI controls.
• Ability to influence technical decisions across diverse teams and external vendors, with the confidence to challenge existing approaches.
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools to design, build and review complex systems and architectures.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain technical trade-offs to both technical and executive audiences.
