IT Infrastructure Team Leader

About the role

StoreNext is seeking an experienced, highly technical Hands‑on IT Infrastructure Team Leader to lead a team of four engineers while remaining 70% hands‑on. The role oversees 24×7 critical SaaS production environments and drives innovation across on‑prem and cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of four IT/System engineers, fostering a collaborative culture.
• Hands‑on administration of virtualized infrastructures (VMware, Hyper‑V) and data‑center facilities.
• Design, implement and own backup, retention and Disaster Recovery policies.
• Ensure maximum uptime and performance of 24×7 SaaS production environments; act as first technical responder during incidents.
• Research and introduce cost‑effective open‑source solutions and AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve operations.
• Implement and maintain security and remote‑access solutions (VPN, Zero Trust/ZTNA, SASE, MFA) for employees and third‑party vendors.
• Manage identity and access using enterprise IdPs (Okta, Entra ID), SSO and modern protocols (SAML, OIDC).
• Support compliance initiatives (ISO 27001, SOC 2) and prepare for audits.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal hardware, licensing and service terms.

Required profile

• 3+ years leading small IT/system teams in high‑pressure environments, with a desire to stay 70%+ hands‑on.
• Deep, hands‑on Linux server administration experience.
• Proven scripting automation skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Experience supporting 24×7 critical SaaS production with strict SLAs.
• Practical experience with public cloud (AWS and/or Azure) and hybrid migration projects.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise security, remote‑access and IAM technologies.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 or similar security standards.
• Extensive experience with enterprise backup and DR solutions (Veeam, Commvault, AWS Backup).
• Broad expertise in networking and virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V, F5 XC, BIG‑IP, routing, switches).
• Proficiency with Microsoft cloud services (SharePoint, M365, Teams).
