Director of Application & Cloud Security

About the role

Fireblocks is seeking a Director of Application & Cloud Security to lead the security strategy for its enterprise‑grade digital asset platform. You will own the design, implementation, and maintenance of security controls across the product suite, cloud infrastructure, and development pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the strategic direction for the Application and Cloud Security teams.
• Lead risk assessments, threat modeling, and secure design reviews for multi‑cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Oversee implementation and ongoing maintenance of security controls across cloud environments.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams to embed security throughout product development and cloud deployments.
• Champion adoption of advanced cloud security technologies such as data encryption, IAM, network security, CSPM, IaC, and secrets management.
• Manage and mentor a team of security experts, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with evolving threat landscapes.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in security architecture, software development, or cloud security.
• 5+ years in a leadership role with a proven track record of building high‑performing security teams.
• Engineering background with strong communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Professional security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, OSCP) are highly desirable.
• Deep technical knowledge of cloud services, DevOps, orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes), and cloud‑native security solutions.
