Director of Algorithms Development

About the role

QuantHealth is building an AI‑driven platform to simulate and optimise clinical trials. We are looking for a Director of AI & Algorithms to lead the team that creates the core models and methodologies powering this platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary AI & Algorithms team of researchers, data scientists and algorithm developers.
• Define the scientific and algorithmic roadmap for simulation, prediction and AI‑based product capabilities.
• Guide development of foundation models, predictive models, simulation methodologies and next‑generation AI features.
• Establish validation, benchmarking, uncertainty quantification and model calibration standards.
• Partner with Clinical Informatics, DataOps, MLOps, Product and Engineering to turn scientific challenges into scalable solutions.
• Drive evaluation and adoption of new machine‑learning methods, data representations and modelling approaches.
• Review major modelling, statistical and methodological decisions across the organisation.
• Own scientific publications, conference submissions and external research collaborations.
• Represent QuantHealth’s scientific capabilities to customers, partners, investors and the broader AI‑health community.
• Mentor senior technical talent and foster a culture of scientific rigor and execution.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading machine‑learning or AI research teams in production environments.
• Strong background in machine learning, statistics, predictive modelling or related quantitative disciplines.
• Track record of developing, evaluating and deploying ML systems that drive real‑world products.
• Deep understanding of model validation, experimental design, uncertainty quantification and statistical evaluation.
• Ability to translate ambiguous scientific or business problems into practical modelling solutions.
• Experience recruiting, mentoring and developing high‑performing technical teams.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across scientific, technical and business functions.
