Data Engineer – Enterprise Data Lake (Cloudera)

About the role

Join the Data & AI unit to design, build and operate a large‑scale enterprise Data Lake in an on‑premises environment, using the Cloudera platform. You will enable advanced analytics and AI model development across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data infrastructures on Cloudera.
• Implement high‑volume data ingestion, processing and pipelines in a distributed environment.
• Build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines to support analytics and AI projects.
• Collaborate with Data, Analytics and Development teams to deliver enterprise‑grade solutions.
• Provide on‑call support for critical systems, including after‑hours and weekends.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science).
• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience as a Data Engineer or in Big Data development.
• Proven experience with the Apache ecosystem (Spark, Hive, Impala).
• Strong proficiency in Python, Scala or Java for pipeline development.
• Expertise in writing complex analytical SQL queries and performance optimisation.
