Controller – Multi-Entity Finance Operations

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Controller to own accounting operations and financial controls for a fast‑growing, multi‑entity, multi‑currency travel‑tech business. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead consolidation across UK and Netherlands entities, manage statutory audits and drive a faster, more accurate month‑end close using modern, AI‑assisted tools.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle intercompany accounting across multi‑currency operations, including FX translation, transfer pricing and opening/closing balances.
• Own alignment, bookkeeping and statutory audits for UK and Netherlands entities end‑to‑end.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes for all entities.
• Control the general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations and chart of accounts.
• Ensure US GAAP compliance, including ASC 606 revenue recognition for bookings, cancellations and refunds.
• Oversee consolidation of financial statements across all entities.
• Maintain accounting positions and memos such as leases and R&D capitalization.
• Coordinate VAT, corporate tax and foreign vendor payments with external advisors and tax authorities.
• Design, document and maintain internal controls over financial reporting.
• Evaluate and implement AI‑powered automation tools to reduce manual work and accelerate the close.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA qualification.
• 4+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in multi‑entity, multi‑currency environments.
• Hands‑on experience with statutory audits and tax compliance.
• Strong technical accounting judgment and familiarity with US GAAP and ASC 606.
