Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

As a Buyer at Applied Materials you will be responsible for purchasing the materials, supplies, machinery and services that equip our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities. You will work closely with engineering, planning and supply‑chain teams to ensure timely delivery and optimal inventory levels.

Key responsibilities

• Issue RFQs, analyse proposals and negotiate prices and delivery terms.
• Issue and adjust purchase orders, follow‑up on orders, verify deliveries and approve payments.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and negotiate vendor contracts as needed.
• Expedite receipt of materials and coordinate with engineering and Commodity Business Managers to recommend new suppliers.
• Collaborate with planning and engineering to maintain inventory at planned levels.
• Lead problem resolution for material‑related accounting and receiving issues.
• Execute and cancel pull‑ins, push‑outs and planned orders according to priorities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in purchasing or procurement of materials, supplies or equipment.
• Strong organizational and strategic planning abilities.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, planning and supply‑chain teams.
• Effective negotiation skills with suppliers and vendors.
