Staff Backend Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on technical leader to join PointFive’s core engineering team as a Staff Backend Engineer. You will own high‑impact initiatives from conception to production, drive AI‑focused features, and serve as a technological anchor across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex technical projects, AI feature development, and core architectural components with an ownership mindset.
• Design robust, scalable infrastructure and data pipelines that handle massive volumes of cloud infrastructure data.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and data specialists to translate business roadmaps into high‑performance systems.
• Establish development guidelines, conduct design and architecture reviews, and raise code‑quality standards across teams.
• Mentor fellow engineers through hands‑on collaboration, deep code reviews, and architectural consultation.

Required profile

• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience building large‑scale cloud production systems.
• Proven ability to lead technical workflows, drive cross‑team initiatives, and act as a full‑lifecycle domain owner.
• Strong independent operator who thrives in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
• Excellent capability to build technical consensus and inspire peers across stakeholders.
