Software Engineer III – Android Mobile (Waze)

About the role

Google’s Waze team is looking for a Software Engineer III to build and enhance Android mobile experiences that help users navigate and contribute real‑time road data. You will work on core features of the Waze Android app, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable product and system code for the Android platform.
• Participate in, or lead, design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate technology choices.
• Review code from other engineers, providing feedback on style, testability, efficiency and best practices.
• Maintain and improve documentation and educational content, adapting it to product updates and user feedback.
• Triage, debug, and resolve product or system issues, analyzing impacts on hardware, network, or service quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience, including 2 years of Android application development.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms (preferred).
• Experience developing accessible technologies (preferred).
• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science or related field is a plus.
