Software Engineer – Fabric Public APIs (IC2)

About the role

Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer (IC2) to join the Fabric public APIs and embed team. In this role you will help build and evolve the public APIs, tools and integrations that enable enterprises to scale their data and AI workloads on the Microsoft Fabric platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Fabric’s public API surface and related SDKs.
• Build tooling and experiences that simplify automation and AI integration for customers.
• Collaborate with product, security and infrastructure teams to ensure reliability, performance and governance of the platform.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including testing, documentation and continuous improvement.
• Apply appropriate AI tools and practices to enhance feature development and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Strong design, coding, debugging and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Self‑motivated, independent learner with a passion for technology.
• Alignment with Microsoft’s culture and values.

Required skills

• Experience with Azure cloud services.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric platform.
• Building and consuming public APIs.
• Use of AI/ML tools within software development.
