Software Architect – Backend Cloud Migration

About the role

As a hands‑on Backend Software Architect, you will define and drive the architectural modernization and cloud migration of a mission‑critical healthcare platform within Philips Radiology Informatics. You will lead the transformation of a complex radiology informatics backend system, enabling cloud adoption, improved reliability, scalability, and long‑term platform evolution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architectural transformation of a complex, mission‑critical radiology informatics backend system.
• Enable cloud adoption, improve reliability and scalability, and guide long‑term platform evolution.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineering, DevOps, security, product management, and technical leadership.
• Act as a technical authority and mentor, influencing cross‑functional architectural decisions.
• Drive modernization using modern engineering practices and AI‑assisted development tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in backend software engineering, architecture, infrastructure, networking, and reliability.
• Proven hands‑on experience as a Software Architect driving architecture modernization.
• Experience migrating complex on‑premises systems to AWS.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and high‑availability design.
