Senior VLSI Design Engineer

About the role

MDA Space is seeking a Senior VLSI Design Engineer to join its Sat Connect IC business unit. You will work on complex system‑on‑chip (SoC) designs focused on advanced digital signal processing and modem subsystems for satellite communications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop digital VLSI modules from concept through implementation, ensuring they meet physical design entry requirements.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to create advanced signal‑processing cores and subsystem solutions.
• Adjust, deploy, and integrate subsystems into the company’s design environment.
• Participate in architectural, front‑end, verification, and physical‑design activities for ASIC/SoC projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• At least 5 years of experience in VLSI engineering.
• Strong self‑learning ability and adaptability to new technical fields.
• Effective teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Required skills

• RTL coding and verification.
• PD‑aware synthesis and Static Timing Analysis (STA).
• VLSI architecture experience.
• Understanding of signal‑processing and modem architecture.
• Full ASIC/VLSI chip‑design flow knowledge.
